Gre powerprep test 1 second qr solutions2/15/2024 ![]() ![]() Really though, trust that you're answering stuff correctly. I'm not, I'm an idiot who takes off work on Fridays to study and lives with his parents because he's too much of a miser to move out. I have no doubt I could solve every problem if I had some more time.ġ: If a section seems too easy, maybe you're just smart. ![]() Section 2 was also rather easy, but I again ran out of time, just quicker than I did on section one. I breezed through it and was confident in my prediction of 160+ even though I did run out of time. Over the past 2 months I have undoubtedly improved my performance on Magoosh, ETS, and Manhattan questions, yet my score has gone up only slightly over my 154 and 156 PP scores and I'm clueless as to why Yes, I used a calculator for that MIKE MCGERRY. ![]() An average of 2 hours a day on weekdays and 10 hours per weekend which adds up to about 160 hours of study over the past 2 months. This led me to focus most of my study on Quant subjects. These grades belie my general weakness with mathematical concepts and inability to avoid the stupidest of mistakes with sign placement and mental math. I got As in all my math and stat courses even though they weren't truly intense. I was a wildlife ecology major (BSC) undergrad. If I get a 166 on my real test, I will be happy. I certainly could have scored higher if I didn't psych myself out with the ease of the second section. I nearly quit at the end because I was sure I had hit the easy section and would end with a poor score. I questioned whether the moderately intense section I received as my first verbal section may have been experimental (didn't know PPP1 had no experimental) and began to panic. I'm sorry if this offends anyone having trouble with V, but when I reached the second section I was legitimately panicking because of how simple the questions were. Even so, I was expecting a lower score than I received.Īs for the difficulty of verbal on the test, I was taken aback by how absurdly simple it was. The only explanation I can think of is that my parents were master's students in literature at a top-tier public ivy, so the genetic/upbringing deal with them may have been a factor. My education wasn't exactly verbally intensive, and I have been out of school 4 years. I have practiced with only a few ETS verbal questions, and to be honest, I don't read in my free time. I know all the words, and expect to crush the SC portion of V. I have an absurd memory, to the point where I have been called out as strange for remembering things about people in real life and frequently have to pretend not to remember things to not freak people out. I've also completed the 700 top offenders in ANKI. ![]() I've completed all the Magoosh decks a couple times at the gym, and in short moments after and before work. Due to these factors and my preternatural tendency to delay coming to a conclusion in my writing with verbosity as you see in this passage and will continue to see in this behemoth of a post about my experience taking a not-for-credit test that I'm guessing no one will have the willpower to read through in its entirety. My desultory side also tends to show itself when I don't have ample time to proofread. As for AWA? In practice, I write very well under pressure but I have put exactly 0 hours into prepping for AWA. I was even slightly indifferent due to my first PowerPrep score being 165 and my second PowerPrep score being 164. I was expecting low 160s, or even high 150s in verbal as I have been out of the reading and writing game for so long. So I was expecting to break 160 on Q as I have spent scores (yes, 20s, a score a week to be exact) of hours studying quant and have unequivocally improved my ability to complete ETS, Magoosh, and Manhattan questions. I know it's annoying when people studying for the GRE try to use these absurd words in their posts, but it has helped me in the past when I've seen a big word used by someone studying in a Reddit post, googled it, and had it pop up later on in a mock test. Look those up, they'll probably come up on your test. I was expecting different results, but, (to throw in some GRE words), prescience is not my forte, and I don't claim to be an augur. I just took PPP1 today after 2 months of studying. ![]()
